Where Have You Been?
One of my former neighbors, Raymond, was a World War II veteran who took part in The Battle of the Bulge.  His feet had suffered from the bitter cold during the decisive battle so in his old age he had to walk carefully across his yard to tend his garden each year.  You would see him sitting on a home-made bench most every day tinkering with a broken appliance or brandishing some garden tool.  When he wasn't giving me sage advice about my competing garden he was talking to his cat.  Raymond's feline friend had taken off for a few weeks, and while my wife was out back one day she heard our neighbor loudly exclaim, "Where have you been?"  My wife looked around to Raymond's yard, and there crawling up was the missing cat.  Raymond, happy for the reunion, picked up his old friend and carried it inside the house.
I have a  question for you long time-missing chess players, "Where have you been?"  No matter what chess group you now belong to, or even if you are idle, come on back and visit your old chess club. You are always welcome.
